Auditions for Miss Julie
SEEKING non-equity actors and technical artists for Contemporary Classics Theatre’s 2026 production of August Strindberg’s Miss Julie directed by Cait Cortelyou (she/her). Gender non-conforming actors and actors of all ethnicities encouraged to submit for all roles.
AUDITIONS will be held Thursday August 20, 6:30PM - 9:30PM. Invited callbacks will be held on Saturday August 22, 3:00PM - 5:00PM. Auditions and callbacks will be held in the Red Studio on the third floor of the Alliance Theater, 1280 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS
Julie - Female-presenting, 20s. The daughter of a wealthy and influential man, Julie is caught between society’s expectations of her, and her own desires. At turns arrogant, coy, frightened, naive, and furious.
Jean - Male-presenting, 20s-30s. The employee of Julie’s father, Jean is fed up with his station in life and dreams of running away and opening a hotel. Passionate but not always sincere, Jean is seductive, earnest, dismissive, and callous.
Christine - Female-presenting, 20s-30s. Works as a cook for Julie’s father and his household. Engaged to Jean, she is practical, unassuming, quietly clever, and unexpectedly strong-willed.
